A chance encounter leads to love and adventure

**UPDATE: As of June 2020, we relocated from the DC area to Denver, CO! As you might guess from our site, we are both thrilled to be moving closer to the mountains. We look forward to the many hikes, backpacking trips, snowshoe trips, and ski days out in Colorado!

We met one cold night in Flagstaff, Arizona: November 21, 2010.  Sarah was in Flagstaff pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Physics and Astronomy. Dan was up in Flagstaff to hike for the weekend as a getaway from his law enforcement career in Phoenix, AZ. Our story is one of chance, but since then we've never regretted being where we were that night. We immediately connected through our love of the outdoors and hiking through the mountains.

As we talked about all the beautiful places we wanted to see, we knew we would be discovering these places together. In fact, one of the places we plan to visit together, and have been planning ever since the night that we met, is Glacier National Park. We plan to go to Glacier eventually, but in the meantime we have many many adventures we've gone on together. This website is our way of sharing those adventures with you, our friends and family!

In the years since our meeting, we have hiked up mountains and down into narrow canyons, and motorcycled through large swathes of Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. We have experienced the joy of doing many things for the first time for both of us, together, such as: skiing, snowshoeing, climbing, hiking 14-ers, multi-day backpacking, motorcycle camping, and kayaking. We plan to have many more firsts in the future including, ice climbing, mountaineering, wilderness backpacking (Denali, here we come!), motorcycling through northern Alaska and South America, and more!

We got engaged on top of Half Dome on June 2, 2014, and married on the top of Cottonwood Pass in Colorado July 11, 2016.
